Pirates Bay Boat Ramp Upgrade.
Gentlemen,
A contractor has been chosen for the upgrade of the boat ramp and new walkway construction who will begin work shortly. We need to use this time
of the year whilst favourable tides and weather exist.

We have chosen dates that least affect commercia operators, club members
and the public.
The ramp will be closed from 25th February and will re-open for the March
long-weekend on Friday 7th March 2008.

Whilst I am aware that Tuna Club Rally No.3 is on the 1st March, during the
construction period, those trailer boats involved will be aware that the
ramp adjacent to the Tuna Club will still be available. Whilst this ramp
can be limited at extremely low tides, this should not affect competitors
too much as the high tide is around 0300hrs, low tide around 1200hrs (when
all competitors will be at sea) and high tide again in the afternoon when
competitors return. Therefore, launching and retrieving should not be
adversely affected by the closure but be advised that the high tide on the
afternoon of the 1st March is not exceptionally high.

During the week after the long weekend (11-14 March) the new ramp will
again be closed (during weekdays) for several days to facilitate the
driving of piles for the new adjacent walkway. Once these are driven the
ramp will re-open. It is envisaged that the ramp will remain open whilst
the walkway is constructed.

Please forward this email to anyone who may be affected by the closure.

If you have any queries please contact me.
